As part of Sask Wrestling and Sask Sports commitment to creating inclusive, respectful, and culturally aware sporting environments, we are proud to offer the Aboriginal Coaching Module (ACM) to participants of the Saskatchewan Winter Games and any other coaches of Sask Wrestling that are interested in this course.
The ACM is designed to help coaches, volunteers, and sport leaders deepen their understanding of Indigenous culture, history, and perspectives—especially as they relate to sport and athlete development. It provides valuable insights into the unique experiences of Indigenous athletes, including barriers they may face and strengths they bring to their sport communities.
By participating in this module, we take an important step toward reconciliation and equity in sport. It equips all of us with the tools to build stronger relationships with Indigenous athletes and communities, and to create welcoming, respectful spaces for everyone.
Hosting the Aboriginal Coaching Module reflects the values of the Sask Wrestling : respect, inclusion, and the celebration of all cultures through sport.
We encourage all participants to approach this opportunity with open minds and hearts. Together, we can foster a more unified and understanding sport community—one that supports every athlete in reaching their full potential.
Hopefully we will see you attend.
