Grassroots Wrestling Program
Saskatchewan Wrestling’s Grassroots Program is all about growing the sport from the ground up and creating opportunities for kids in every corner of the province. Our goal is simple: make wrestling accessible, fun, and welcoming for all students, schools, and communities—big or small.
Through our grassroots work, we travel across Saskatchewan to deliver school visits, run introductory sessions, and help teachers bring wrestling into their gyms. No experience is needed—we bring the coaches, the energy, and the support. Whether it’s a full class or a small group of eager students, we tailor each visit to fit the school and community.
We also offer a variety of training camps, from beginner sessions to specialty clinics, along with coach development opportunities to help new and returning coaches feel confident and supported. Our aim is to give every community the tools they need to build and grow their own wrestling program.
A big part of our mission is connecting with smaller districts and rural communities. We know how important it is that every student, no matter where they live, has the chance to try something new, learn new skills, and feel part of the wrestling family. By working closely with schools and local leaders, we’re helping build strong foundations that will support wrestling across the province for years to come.
The Grassroots Program is here to spark interest, build relationships, and create pathways for young athletes. We’re excited to continue growing the sport of wrestling throughout Saskatchewan—one school, one community, and one athlete at a time.
