Sask Sport has implemented a new updated MAP funding program revisions for the upcoming season of 2026-2027.
Below, some of the key updates have been highlighted.
Maintained Areas:
- Application, follow-up and payment procedures for the PSO/MSO and member organizations
New:
- Desired outcomes added
- Requirements and Conditions section
- Eligible Expenditures – examples provided
Revisions:
- Purpose statement
- Updated terminology and headings, including two clearly defined sections:
- guidelines for PSOs/MSOs and
- requirements and conditions for PSOs/MSOs to develop their own internal MAP policy for member organizations
- Eligible MAP level calculations will use registered athlete member numbers, rather than total registered members
- New definitions added for:
- Registered Athlete Member
- Trained or Advanced Minor Officials (eligible)
- Entry-Level Minor Officials (non-eligible)
- Clarified ineligible expenditures (Ex. food, excellence level sport development, non-program specific equipment, etc.)
Next Steps:
- Finalize and share updated club application and spending plan, follow-up report forms, as well as the PSO/MSO MAP Summary Report Form
- PSOs and MSOs are encouraged to review and update their internal MAP Policy to ensure it aligns with the revised MAP Guidelines
